Ice Cube Launches Basketball League For Retired NBA Players

Ice Cube along with a longtime buisness partner of his by the name of Jeff Kwatinetz came up with ingenious way to allow basketball fans to get to see their favorite players hit the court again.

The duo are launching a 3-on-3 basketball league which would allow the players to play at a low pace.

“I thought of this concept as a fan who got sick of seeing his heroes retired and not play aymore,” the “Barbershop” actor told Vertical Podcast.

“A lot of these guys can still play once they retire- just not the back-to-back or four games in five nights,” he adds.

It seems the 3-on-3 basketball league is well on its way, retired players like Jason Williams, Rashard Lewis, Kenyon Martin, Jermaine O’Neal and Stephen Jackson already signed up to participate. Gary Payton is set to coach for the team.

According to reports the league is set to kick off its first season in 2017, where the league will pertain of eight teams of five players.
