A girl of seven years of age apparently blow herself up after she calmly entered into a Police station in Damascus, according to Syrian media.
The blast left three police officers wounded, reported the Al-Watan daily, who has close ties to the government.
According to a post on social media, “A seven-year old girl entered the police station, carrying a belt that was detonated from afar.”
Sources say the girl looked as if she was lost as she walked into the station. She then told officers she wanted to use the bathroom and the bomb went off.
A recording taken from at the scene shows how the explosion reduced the police station into debris.
The child’s remains were also captured on film but was blurred out because it too strong of a content.
Rami Abdel Rahman, a high Observatory official, informed the AFP about a woman who had also died in the explosion but was not sure if she played a victim in this role or an innocent bystander.
This incident comes after it was recently reported that children were being burned alive in the city of Aleppo as the rebel engaged in battle with Syrian military.
